Green Building Council Denmark (DK-GBC) is a non-profit organization that aims to improve sustainability in buildings and the built-up environment in Denmark.
DK-GBC is a network of stakeholders who wish to improve the sustainability of the build environment in Denmark radically. With more than 300 members (divided into companies / organizations / private persons) we represent the opinions of the current and future leaders in the industry who search for transformation changes. We offer solid and impartial research of building projects and urban areas’ sustainable contribution.
The pace of progress is far too insufficient to meet the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and targets by 2030. As a Green Building Council working for advancing sustainability in the Danish construction sector, we are therefore very aware of the burden our industry represents and hence the importance of the task we have on our agenda.
This calls for a strong collaboration across borders, and Green Building Council Denmark find it highly motivational to team up with G17 – a strong group of inspirational and highly professional people from similar organizations with the same purpose. Our challenge is universal, and so should the means be. At Green Building Council Denmark, we are looking forward to push this great initiative further and strengthen a sustainable construction sector.
Mette Qvist has held the position as CEO of Green Building Council Denmark since the establishment of the office in 2012. The non-profit organization now counts 300+ members representing stakeholders from the value chain in the construction industry in Denmark. She has a broad background from various industries and is highly motivated by change management and passionate about supporting the sustainable transformation of society – especially the construction industry.
Mette focuses on attracting and engaging stakeholders to create sustainable solutions that provide commercial benefits by promoting transformative CSR in construction and operation of buildings. The goal is to reduce environmental impact while improving the competitiveness of the individual company. The purpose is to create the best conditions for shared value to occur simultaneously for the company and society.
